I am currently writing a non-technical book on the key drivers of cybersecurity, specifically tailored for decision-makers. The book distills insights and discussions from my experiences in the industry, my courses and numerous talks, offering a clear and practical guide to navigating the complexities of cybersecurity. It aims to equip leaders with the knowledge to make informed decisions in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Why?

In the age of the connected world you are exposed to cyber security risks no matter your interests, your industry, or the type of organization you work for. This book explains the fundamental principles governing cybersecurity from the attackers and defenders’ perspective to help you make better decisions.

Objective

Clear the fog and support decision making based on fundamental concepts that explain and drive cybersecurity beyond the current hype or hot topics. These are concepts or principles that will still be true in decades from today. I discuss these concepts from the attackers and defenders perspective to help you better navigate the field. Understanding key concepts is more effective than chasing an endless stream of fast changing and isolated facts (aka news). Therefore I do not discuss threats, tools, and tactics that are likely to become quickly dated.

The book will be short, I aim at no more than 100 pages, to make it readable and manageable.
